Two news venues for the 2010 Stresa Festival! The Castello Visconti di San Vito in Massino Visconti join the great number of the Festival venues, which this year comes back to Orta S. Giulio, for a concert in the Church San Nicolao at the Sacro Monte.
Orchestral music concerts remain a must in the Festival's programming, be it at the Palazzo dei Congressi or at the Auditorium "La Fabbrica" in Villadossola, capacious concert halls but cosy enough to favour an "intimate" approach to the musical event.
The Rocca Borromeo in Angera and the Castello Visconteo in Vogogna, much loved by tourists from all over the world, become for the Settimane Musicali authentic surprises full of charm and intimacy. The Villa Ponti is a 18th century villa situated in the historic centre of Arona, was chosen to house intimate concerts, followed by a selected and qualified audience.
In Verbania, the church Madonna di Campagna situated in the town's industrial centre, brings us back to the 16th century and turns into an exquisite casket for our music.
The historic centre of Belgirate holds the Santa Maria Church or Chiesa Vecchia, in the higher part of the town. In roman style, this perfect niche decorated with splendid 16th century fresco is the ideal venue for an exclusive strings recital.
Three new locations in Stresa were added in 2008 to the Festival venues: Villa Pallavicino, wonderfully situated in front of the lake and, with its huge garden, undoubtedly the most visitated by tourists and the Church S.S. Crocifisso of the Collegio Rosmini, with its breathtaking view of the lake.
Since 2009 new Festival venue will be the comfortable Sala Tiffany of Regina Palace Hotel in Stresa.
