Paolo Silvestri, a composer, arranger, orchestra conductor and pianist has for a long time now been experimenting how to combine different musical languages, partnering jazz with contemporary music and popular traditional music from all over the world. He is credited with numerous projects for symphony orchestras, and composing and arranging music for important musicians. Here this evening is Fabrizio Bosso, with whom he has worked for several years, and the Orchestra Nazionale Jazz dei Conservatori italiani (National Jazz Orchestra of the Italian music schools). The program offers the first peformance of a suite commissioned by the Stresa Festival, inspired by the sound track of La grande bellezza, selected by the Associazione Stresa Festival Young with reference to the Alessi products featured in the film.
Then come some of Silvestri’s own compositions and a tribute to Ennio Morricone, with arrangements of music from three successful films, with Fabizio Bossi on the trumpet.
