Isola in Festival – Pasolini’s islands

Isola in Festival

Pasolini’s islands

This centenary of Pasolini’s birth makes us look closely at his impossible, fleeting heritage. There’s no way one can summarize what he has left in any clear, transmissible language. But its contradictory  complexity is an invitation to keep seeking to grasp his obstinate and always contrary ways. This intellectual, ‘belonging to no church’, cannot be slotted into the binary schemes that are increasingly used to classify the world.
Pasolini’s iconic figure leads us directly and indirectly as we stroll freely around the Isola dei Pescatori, happening on bursts of life and live music, audio installations, photography, words, stories and acrobatic dance.
Find all the rock oil – Petroleum – tastefully and attractively spread here and there against the breathtaking views the island offers its visitors. These are bound to ‘fire up’ our thoughts, fueling the desire to do more research into ‘our’ Pasolini. He is not just a pop picture on a T-shirt, but a Maestro to be eaten in Salsa Piccante, as Corvo recommended to Totò and Ninetto Davoli in Uccellacci e uccellini.

If the weather is bad the event will be held on Sunday 17 July.
