UMARELL

Umarell is the project of Martin Giovannella, a Bologna-based musician and producer born in 2005. The project took shape with the release of his debut album Cantiere, which immediately defined its sonic identity: a language that starts from electronic and indie music and intertwines with alternative, trap, grime, drum’n’bass, and trip hop.
After presenting his work in several Italian cities and on stages such as MI AMI Festival, Circolo Magnolia in Milan, Locomotiv, Covo Club in Bologna, Balena Festival in Genoa, Freqency Club in Naples, and Poplar Festival in Trento, Umarell has also brought his music abroad, with concerts in New York and Lugano. In 2025, he released Rock & Roll, his third album with an electroclash edge, inspired by the early 2000s, with an imagery that blends elegance and digital chaos.
On April 24, his fourth album, 1000%, was released. It’s a record that captures the exact moment when you stop being a child without yet feeling like an adult. It’s a work shaped by grief, anger, irony, and a need for faith, where each track represents a different reaction to growing up: some build an armor (Carro Armato), some turn pain into a collective ritual (Bouquet), some defend innocence (Sassolini), and others attack the system with sarcasm (Dissacrante). Everything stems from a constant tension between fragility and the display of strength—being “at one thousand percent” in order not to collapse.
