This evening’s performance showcases a programme featuring three seminal 20th-century masterpieces, brought to life by the piano duo Lukas Geniušas and Anna Geniushene. These works are presented in their arrangements for two pianos: George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture and Rhapsody in Blue, alongside Sergei Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, Op. 45. The Russian-Lithuanian pianist Lukas Geniušas has established himself as one of the most captivating and distinctive artists of his generation, garnering prestigious awards at numerous international competitions. Praised for his ‘brilliance and maturity’ (The Guardian), he performs recitals in the world’s most prestigious venues and is a regular guest at major international festivals. Furthermore, he collaborates with some of the most distinguished symphony orchestras, under the baton of eminent conductors.The Muscovite pianist Anna Geniushene trained at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and was awarded the Silver Medal at the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2022. She has performed in many renowned concert halls across Moscow, Zwickau, and Berlin, and has developed a profound dedication to chamber music, including the piano duo repertoire which she performs alongside her husband, Lukas Geniušas.
