LE CONCERTO
P. I. ČAJKOVSKIJ, Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35
L. V. BEETHOVEN, Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55 “Eroica”
This evening’s concert features the Prague Philharmonia, conducted by Robert Kružik, alongside the gifted young violinist Andrea Cicalese, who takes on Tchaikovsky’s celebrated Violin Concerto. The Prague-based orchestra was founded in 1994 at the initiative of JiříBělohlávek, originally under the name Prague Chamber Philharmonia. Today, it stands as one of the most acclaimed ensembles, not only within the Czech Republic but on the global stage—a status underscored by regular invitations to international tours and recording projects with the world’s leading labels. A rapidly rising star on the musical horizon, Andrea Cicalese was born in Naples in 2005. Despite his youth, he has attained an enviable artistic maturity, performing frequently as a soloist in some of the most renowned concert halls in Turin, Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Hamburg, and Zurich. In the second half of the programme, the orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Third Symphony, afitting prelude to the highly anticipated celebrations of the great Bonn-born composer to be held in 2027.
