Two artistic personalities, distinct yet complementary and joined by years of fruitful collaboration, perform several true milestones of chamber music: three Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach – widely regarded as the first definitive examples of the sonata concertante for keyboard and melodic instrument — together with a Sonata by one of his sons, Carl Philipp Emanuel.
Ilya Gringolts is a violinist of extraordinary versatility, committed to contemporary music while also driven by a profound passion for the Baroque repertoire along with an historically accurate performance. Winner of the Paganini Prize in 1998, he is invited to the most prestigious concert halls and festivals worldwide. His 2021 recording of Locatelli’s Il labirinto armonico was awarded the Diapason d’Or and selected as an Editor’s Choice by Gramophone.
Francesco Corti, conductor and harpsichordist, was a prize-winner at the international competitions in Leipzig (2006) and Bruges (2007); he performs regularly in recitals and concerts across Europe, the United States and Canada, Latin America, Asia, and New Zealand. His solo recordings have received some of the world’s most prestigious awards (Diapason d’or de l’Année, Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, Gramophone’s Editor’s Choice, Choc de Classica).
