«We are particularly fond of this project because it celebrates the richness and elegance of the French repertoire through transcriptions by Ravel, Poulenc, and Fauré’s masterpieces. The history of music has benefited greatly from the sensitivity and refinement of these composers, who are emblematic of French music. Baptiste Trotignon’s original composition is the final addition to this tribute, and we are pleased to present it. The title of his piece, Ces Messieurs, honours these composers by giving them a contemporary and original sound that complements the rest of the programme».
The Quatuor Van Kuijk‘s reputation has grown since it was founded in Paris in 2012, receiving several awards. Elected “Rising Stars” for the 2017/2018 season by the ECHO network, which brings together the largest concert halls in Europe. The quartet won first prize at the Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition in 2015, receiving the Haydn and Beethoven prizes too. Following that year, the quartet became ‘BBC 3 New Generation Artists’. After these laudatory successes at the beginning of their career  the quartet has become a  well-established presence in major international festivals and concert halls.
