A quartet of talented saxophonists sharing a passion for classical music while seeking to transcend its boundaries: this is Kebyart. Based in Barcelona, the ensemble is unafraid to include the music of Mozart in its repertoire-a composer who passed away in 1791, half a century before the Belgian Adolphe Sax presented a new instrument to the public: the saxophone. A defining characteristic of the ensemble is its creative approach and openness to collaborations with leading artists, soloists, and international orchestras, all with the aim of bringing a breath of fresh air to how classical music is presented. Their determination to transform performances into a unique experience is reflected in a creative vision built on three core pillars:original literature, a focus on new creations, and their own arrangements spanning a wide range of styles.Since its foundation in 2014, Kebyart has broken down barriers and firmly established itself on the classical scene, performing at renowned festivals and concert halls where no saxophone quartet had ever played before. They have inspired composers who had never previously written for the instrument-such as Jörg Widmann, whose7 Capricci we will experience tonight alongside works by Rameau and Schubert.
