The shared roots of the Ensemble Sjaella reach back to an age when emotions can flow unhindered. The voyage of discovery began for these artists in 2005, and it has now taken them around the world. Sjaella has been a fixture on the universal vocal music scene for years, performing concerts at renowned festivals, and winning first prize at many competitions. The ensemble has recently been on concert tours to South Africa, Belgium, Spain, and Norway.
In this concert, Head Hart, Sjaella explores the age-old human dilemma between the head and the heart. Though, the exact relationship between reason and emotion remains a mystery, our daily experience leaves little doubt that both impact our decision making to a great extent. But how can we listen to these inner poles and learn to trust them? Sjaella feeds the hearts and stimulates the minds of their listeners by presenting a fine selection of early and contemporary compositions that are themselves in the field of tension between intellect and emotion. A plea for the truthfulness of thinking and feeling.
Aperitif before the concert at Caffetteria Belvedere in Angera.
