LE NOZZE DI FIGARO

A tragedy that envelops you – this is the version of Mozart’s opera that will be staged for Stresa Festival. This is how the playwright and director Gianmaria Aliverta imagines and wants it, and for more than 12 years now his new way of staging opera has travelled the world, with VoceAllOpera.
The spectator is at the center of the action, close to the singers. This completely changes the audience’s perspective, and shifts them gently into the midst of the story. For the first time they can appreciate all the nuances of the main characters’ actions, as there is no longer any barrier between spectator and stage. The actors move among the public while they sing so the opera really comes to life, and the spectators are almost close enough to sense the amorous events described by Mozart/Da Ponte. There are no scene changes, no painted backdrops to light up! The audience too will move around, taking comfortable seats in various corners of the island to watch the scenes acted out in the different areas.
